The Treatment: Generation Me

Generation Me is the fourth album from UK-based hard rockers The Treatment, and the first to feature new vocalist Mitchel Emms. Like The Answer and Rival Sons, The Treatment is one of several up-and-coming bands in the modern rock scene that channel the classic sounds of the ’70s and ’80s rock eras.

Like the previous albums from The Treatment, Generation Me is a high-energy, highly melodic blast of old school rock n’ roll. Think classic AC/DC, UFO and Cheap Trick mixed with the newer Scandinavian rock sound of Hardcore Superstar and Crashdiet. It has the classic rock backbone with a modern rock energy.

Mitchel Emms is a great addition to the group, bringing plenty of range and a soulful tone. He sounds a bit like Warrant’s Robert Mason on some songs, and like the late Badlands vocalist Ray Gillen on others. Standout tracks on Generation Me include the rousing opener “Let it Begin” and the rowdy anthem “We Are the Beautiful,” but the whole album is really strong.
